We need candy!

As we have been planning our Outreach Events for the Spring Break missions trip, we have realized that many of the teams are planning on using candy as prizes for their games & activities.  If you want to help support the trip by donating individualized wrapped candy, you can bring it in to the youth office during work hours or drop it off at the Welcome Center during the weekend services.  Make sure to bring candy that will not melt!  We are getting very excited as we are all anticipating God to do great and amazing things through our incredible team of high school students on this trip!
We will be doing a run-through of all our events & activities this evening during our Monday night training time.  Please pray that the students remember to bring all of their necessary supplies and that this would be a good learning experience for all of us to notice if we are overlooking anything for the trip.
Also, please be praying that all of our students would be able to raise the necessary funds to pay for their missions trip.  Many of them are working very hard to earn their way and we are very proud of them for putting forth so much effort to serve the Lord!

Outreach Events

It has been very exciting to plan this trip completely from scratch with our team of high school Adult Shephards. There have been a lot of great ideas about how we can minister to the people that live in the inner city of Fresno. One of the ideas that our team came up with was to host Outreach Events. These Outreaches will begin in the late afternoons and will consist of worship, puppets, food, teaching, dramas, as well as games and activities. Each team of students is responsible for planning several games or booths for their team to run. These games range from ring toss, obstacle course, face painting, basketball, water balloon toss, and much, much more. It has been fun to watch the students work together to plan their games, and it will be exciting to see how it will all work together to create some very incredible Outreach Events.

World Impact

As most of you know, we are taking the high school students to serve at the World Impact center in Fresno during Spring Break this year.  We are very excited about all the new doors that God has opened up for us as we have been praying for the direction of the trip.  We are going to be doing service Projects, Family Outreach, Construction and anything else that we can do to serve the local missionaries.
We started our training for World Impact last night. We are really excited about all the students who are signed up to go.  This is going to be such a great trip.  We leave on April 13th and get back on the 19th.  We can't wait to get to see how God is going to use our high school ministry to serve the inner-city of Fresno.  Please be praying for the financial needs of our students who are raising their funds to be able to go on this trip.  Also, please pray for the safety of our group, and the hearts of our students as they prepare to serve the Lord with there time, abilities and resources.  We are excited to see our high school students grow into a loving and welcoming community that seeks to serve the Lord by reaching out and loving others.
